When you buy a personal liability umbrella policy, you are buying an “extra cushion” of liability to both your homeowners and car insurance policies. It also provides a broader insurance coverage range.  Primary homeowners and auto policies generally cover bodily injury and property damage, but with personal liability umbrella policy coverage, you may be covered in the unfortunate event of:

  • False arrest
  • False imprisonment
  • Defamation
  • Invasion of privacy
  • Malicious prosecution
  • Eviction
  • Wrongful entry

In today’s litigious society, a personal umbella policy makes financial sense.  It’s affordable, usually averaging about $200 annual premium.
