Hurricane Damage Caused by Wind?

Wind is typically covered by most standard homeowners insurance policies. However, some policies partially or completely exclude wind-related damage. If a homeowners policy offers coverage for wind damage, it may include a separate wind deductible that is higher than your standard deductible or coverage limits may apply.

Hurricane Damage Caused by Flood?

Homeowners insurance policies do not cover flood damage. This exclusion also applies to flooding brought on by or as a result of a hurricane. You need to purchase a separate flood insurance policy to cover flood damage from a hurricane.
